Pahalgam:
95 kms east of srinagar, 2400 mts above sea level. Popular holiday resort. It is called “Shepherds village” at the head of the Lidder valley. Best place for trout fishing. Apart from angling , Pahalgam is also known as the starting point for trekking. Pilgrims route to Amarnath Cave.

Avantipur:
28 kms from Srinagar on the way to Pahalgam, The monument (Temple) founded by Avantivarman who ruled in the 855- 83 AD. Two imposing temples in ruins.
Verinag:
80 kms from Srinagar, altitude 1,876 m, the spring of Verinag is chief source of the river Jhelum, The Pavilion and baths built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.1620 AD

Kokarnag:
70 Kms from Srinagar, altitude 2,020 mt. Famous for its natural springs at the foot of the forested mountain. It has botanical gardens fragrant with the bloom of thousand flowers. Accommodation: Huts/ Tourist Bunglow
Daksum:
85 kms, altitude 2,515 mts,It is also called Bringhi valley, surrounded by dense forest along the river Bringhi. Paradise for walker’s and best area for bird lowers.There are fishing beats famous for Trout fishing .From here one can go to Kishtwar over the Simthan Pass, popular trek route.

Achabal:
58kms, altitude 1677 mts.Once the enchanted vale of the Mughal Emperors. It has a fine garden in the Mughal style with a row of majestic chinar tress.

Martand:
64 kms, 6 kms from Ananthnag . Famous for its impressive ancient ruins, this temple was built by Lalitaditya Mukhtapida 7th-8th centuries, a warrior king of Kashmir. The Temple was devoted to Sun God.
Aharbal:
55 kms, altitude 2,400 mts, famous for its waterfall formed by Veshav river . The base for trek to Kounsernag 13,500 ft and one can reach from Kounsernag to Ponch. At Arhabal good accommodation in Tourist Bunglow .
Gulmarg:
56 kms from Srinagar, one and a half hour journey, 2690 mts above sea level. .It is called “Meadow of flowers”. In summer best for trekking, golfing and pony rides . One can have beautiful walk around and can see in good weather the high mountains like Naga Parbat(In Gilgit) 7650mts high, Kolohi and Harmukh which are 5425 and 5124 mts high. Gulmarg has the world’s highest green golf course in the world. There are Gondola cable cars that ferry the tourists upto the height of 4605 mts in the Apharwat Range from Gulmarg, throught the year
Winter Sports:
The famous resort for skiing in Winter, commences from December to March end. There is sufficent equipment available for skiing on hire basis . Also Ski professionals are available for guiding and training.

Plenty of hotels/Huts/lodges with reasonable prices. Taxis and Deluxe buses are running from Srinagar.
Yusmarg:
50 kms southeast of Srinagar, one and half hour journey through pine and fir forests. On the way to Yusmarg is the shrine of famous Kashmiri sufi saint : Sheikh Noor-ud-din, popularly known as Nunda Rishi. One can go up to Nilnag Lake either by foot or on a pony back. There is Tourist huts available.
Sonmarg:
87 kms from srinagar, 3 hours journey, 2800mts above sea level. It is called:Golden meadow” at the head of the river sind with beautiful mountains and glaciers. Base for the treks to Harmukh range via Nichnai, Vishensar Lake, gangabal and to Nara Nag . Also the Pilgrim route to Amarnath Cave , which can be done in one day from here. Famous for Trout fishing. Gateway to Leh(Ladakh)

Naranag:

46 kms from Srinagar on the way to Sonamarg.The ruins of the temple at Naranag are situated at the head of the Wangat Valley and the foot of Butsher mountain, trek from here to Sacred Gangabal Lake. It is 10 kms to the North of Kangan. It is said to have been built by Jaluka, the son of Ashoka. There is spring where Rishi Vaisishta is said to have his Ashram. Khalana compiled the Rajatarangini at ths Tirtha. One structure having been identified as Jyeshthesa temple of Lalitaditya 8th century. It is worth to stay one or two nights in tents, to explore this un-known area.
